Another Textured LNS Challenge Card

I was organizing some things in my stamping room the other day and found the Elegant Bird Bigz Die under some items - I totally forgot that I had bought it!  Which makes me think that I'm not as organized as I thought I was!  Anyway, the following is the card that I created for this weeks LNS Texture Challenge.  I used the Vintage Wallpaper EF for the body of the bird and the Adorning Accents Textured EF for the accents on the borders.  I used the Boho Blossoms and 5-Petal Flower Punches to make the flower and feathered the edges with Soft Suede.  The wings were made using the Everyday Enchantment SAB DSP.  I feathered the bird, wings and edges of the c/s with a sponge and Soft Suede ink.  Added some pearls and a little bit of ribbon by the flower and there you have it!  Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day!

Stamps: None
Inks: Soft Suede
Papers: Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Everyday Enchantment SAB DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Bird Bigz Die, Adorning Accents Textured EF, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Boho Blossoms and 5-Petal Flower Punches, Pearls, Chantilly 1/2" Ribbon, Sponge, Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots

LNS Challenge - Using Texture

This week's LNS challenge is all about texture and using our awesome Embossing Folders.  I punched out a flower from the Blossom punch and then embossed it using the Elegant Lines EF.  I then used a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White and embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dots EF.  I then cut the bottom edge using the Scallop Edgelit Die from the current Occasions Mini.  Added some Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon and leaves using the Bird Builder Punch.  Stamped "Thanks" from the Outlined Occasions SAB stamp set, and colored in the words using Pretty in Pink and So Saffron Markers, and cut it down to 1".  I used a 1-1/4" Square Punch to create the indent on the end.  Here's the list of what I used:

Stamps: Outlined Occasions SAB Set
Inks: Whisper White, So Saffon, Certainly Celery
Papers: Whisper White, So Saffon, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot EF, Pretty in Pink Ribbon, So Saffron Button, Baker's Twine, Bird Builder Punch

And speaking of Baker's Twine.  I found some large wooden spools at Michael's yesterday and am going to wrap my Baker's Twine around them.  This way, the twine won't have the "cringled" edge from the SU packaging.

New Purse Die Sneak Peak!

Stampin' Up! will be giving everyone a "sneak peak" at some products in the upcoming catty.  This is one of the sneak peak products and it is called the Petite Purse Die.   This cute die will be available to purchase on April 1st!  I used some retired DSP for the base and added some Fashionable Hearts (current Occasions Mini) using Red Glimmer Paper.  It is cute just the way it is, or "dressed up"!

Bordering on Romance Note Card

I made the following 3" x 3" note card using the Bordering on Romance set from the current Occasions mini.  I stamp the flower image twice on a scrap piece of Whisper White c/s.  On one image I colored in just the leaves using a Wild Wasabi marker, and cut out the entire image.  For the other image I just water colored in the flowers using Pink Pirouette and Rose Red inkpads, and then I cut out just the flower images.  I then layered the colored in flowers over the other image using Dimensionals.  I used the our awesome Simply Scored scoring tool and dry embossed a line 3/8" from each edge on a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Whisper White c/s.   I stamped "thank you" from Teeny Tiny Wishes using a Rose Red ink, and then mounted the flowers using a Dimensional.  I then mounted that on a 3" x 3" piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock.  Very simple and very cute!  The 3" x 3" note cards work well with our 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" envelopes.

Stamps: Bordering on Romance, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Papers: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Water Color Brush, Pearls, SAMJ, Dimensionals, 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" Mini Envelopes

Mixed Bunch Case Card

I saw an adorable card done by the very talented Sandi MacIver and wanted to try my hand at casing it.  You can see Sandi's card that I case  HERE.  The DSP that I used is from the upcoming new SU catty and it is called Summer Smooches.  You can preorder this fun DSP starting on April 1st, along with a few other fun SU goodies!  The saying is from the SAB set, Outlined Occasions, and you can earn this set FREE until the end of March when you place a $50.00 order!  I love how bright and cheery the paper is and the whole concept of this card.  I used the Blossom Punch from the current Occasions mini along the right-hand side of the white c/s, and then ran it through my Big Shot using the Snow Burst EF.  I punched out a flower using the Blossom Punch and cut and added a Daffodil Delight SAB Button with white Bakers Twine to the center of each flower.  Here's the list of what I used:

Stamps: Outlined Occasions SAB
Markers: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Papers: Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Summer Smooches DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Snow Burst EF, 1-1/4" Square Punch, Little Leaves Sizzlit Die, Brights SAB Designer Buttons, White Baker's Twine, Blossom Punch, Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots, SAMJ

LNS Challenge

Sorry it's been soooooooooo long since I posted anything on my blog.  Life has gotten way to busy and I it effected my stampin' mojo!  The card below is one that I made for this week's LNS weekly challenge - which is to create a card using green.  I'm not sure if Baja Breeze is considered "green", but thought I would go with it anyway!  One of the great FREE items I received during SAB was a pack of Everyday Elegance Simply Sent die-cut cards and envelopes.  I wanted to "dress" up the Baja Breeze card front and this what I came up with.  I cut the card in half and then layered the Baja Breeze half on white cardstock.  I stamped 2 flowers from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and punched them out with the coordinating Blossom punch.  Stamped "it's your day" using a saying from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set on the die-cut tags and added some pearls.  Fast, but cute card and I love the look of the die-cut cards!

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Inks: Baja Breeze
Papers: Whisper White, Everyday Elegance Simply Sent SAB set
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Baja Breeze 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon, 3/4" Circle Punch, Pearls, SAMJ, Stampin' Dimensionals
